Asian Cooks

Starting October 1, 2014, a specific program for restaurants with Asian cuisine was introduced to hire cooks from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand or Vietnam, without having to look for a suitable candidate on the local labour market. The GVVA permit for paid employment is valid for 2 years and can be renewed.

The cook must have a valid diploma, comparable with level 4 in The Netherlands

The salary must meet the standards of the hospitality Collective Labour Agreement

There is an obligation to perform at least 1 of several prescribed actions (to improve the availability of cooks on the local labour market). This must be proven at the next application for a GVVA permit.
